About SpectrumGirl
SpectrumGirl is my nickname. You’d have to ask the friend who gave it to me exactly why, but it stuck. I do tend to bounce from one project to another — always curious, always experimenting. The one thing I’ve never stopped working on, though, is cooking. I’ve been obsessed with it since my first Easy-Bake Oven.
In high school, I took every cooking class available — and that’s the extent of my “formal” training. After that, I kept learning the way many of us do: by reading hundreds of cookbooks and food magazines, testing recipes, and making mostly good food… with a few spectacular failures along the way.
I love researching why a particular ingredient is healthy for our bodies.
I focus on whole foods and plants. Most of the time.
